Stalag 304 (Stalag IV-H) Zeithain

Stalag 304 (Stalag IV-H) Zeithain was a German POW camp for mainly Soviet prisoners of war from 1941 to 1945. It was since 1942 a sub camp of Stalag IV-B. Between 25,000 and 30,000 Soviet POW's and 900 prisoners from other countries perished in this camp due to sickness and the life circumstances. It was liberated by the Red Army on 23 April 1945.

The camp today:
Stalag IV-H was completely destroyed after the war. There is a reconstructed barrack building standing at the memorial complex Ehrenhain (Gedenkstätte Ehrenhain Zeithain). There is also a small museum in memory of this camp and its victims.
