Battery Kingsbury

Battery Kingsbury was a part of Fort Casey, which was part of the harbor defense of the Columbia and was built from 1901 to 1904. In 1941, the battery became operational again, until 1945. It was equipped with two 10" guns. During the Second World War, these were replaced by 3" anti aircraft guns.

Battery Moore
Battery Moore was part of Fort Casey and was built from 1901 to 1904. In 1941, the battery became operational again, until 1946. It was equipped with three 10" guns. During the Second World War, one of these were replaced by 3" anti aircraft guns and transferred to Battery Kingsbury. The other two 10" guns were removed in 1943.

Nowadays the batteries are part of the Fort Casey State Park and can be visited. Some batteries have guns mounted again. These guns come from the U. S. Naval Base Subic Bay in the Philippines and have war damage.
