The Triangle (Bloody Triangle)

The Triangle (Bloody Triangle) was a piece of land between Buna Village and Buna Government Station. It was heavily fortfied by the Japanese and witnessed fighting in November-December 1942, when the 126th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division started its attack. The Americans decided to bypass The Triangle on 20 December 1942.
