Memorial Chapel Rijen

This chapel commemorates five residents of Rijen who perished in the Second World War or in the Dutch East Indies. On the gate of the chapel is this Dutch text (translated to English):

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
PROTECT US

There are also two stones on the wall, one with the text:

W. BIEMANS * 15/4/1922
DIED. 28/4/1947
B.P. VAN DUN * 7/3/1927
DIED. 26/3/1948

And on the other stone is this text:
1940 - 1945
C. A. PIJPERS * 27/4/1905
DIED. 10/5/1940
A. VLAMINCKX * 21/11/1919
DIED. 13/5/1940

The chapel was reveiled in 1950.
