Dam Lock de Kwakel
The dam lock is part of the theorem of Amsterdam. The lock was constructed around 1895 in the Fire Line, the dyke between the Zuider and Noorder Legmeerpolder. In the event of a war threat, the Zuider Legmeerpolder could be flooded by opening a lock in Kudelstaart. The De Kwakel dam lock bet closed with bulkheads, so that the Noorder Legmeerpolder remained dry.
