Memorial Battle of Gavere
The Battle of Gavere was fought near Semmerzake in the County of Flanders on 23 July 1453. This was the battle between the Duke of Burgundy Filip the Good and the city of Ghent. The Ghent people were defeated and the battle ended the Revolt of Ghent (1449-1453).
