Memorial Halifax LV774

The Artillery Shooting Range Oldebroek is the location of this memorial for the crew of Halifax LV774. On the evening of 21 January 1944 the bomber left its base RAF Snaith in England for a mission over Germany when it was shot down over the Wehrmacht Artillery Shooting range at Oldebroek by night fighter pilot Oberfeldwebel Heinz Finke, 11./NJG 1, in his Bf 110 G-4. Six of the seven crewmembers were killed. They were buried at Oldebroek General Cemetery on 25 January 1944.
