Demarcation Pole 22 Ypres
The farthest German advance between the North Sea and the Swiss border was marked in the years 1922-1925 with 'demarcation poles' on the main points.
A demarcation pole, also called "front pole", is a memorial that shows approximate to where the German armies had advanced during the First World War. In France and Belgium, a total of 118 demarcation poles was placed. Ninety-four poles have survived the years: nineteen in Belgium and seventy-five in France.
