Commonwealth War Grave Dutch Reformed Cemetery Oisterwijk

On the Dutch Reformed Cemetery in Oisterwijk is a Commonwealth war grave. This is the grave of the 23-year-old Robert Edward Kirk, a corporal of the Gordon Highlanders.

Special about this grave is the inscription on the stone which is also a salute to a Dutch boy:

IN MEMORY OF BOB
OUR LOVING SON AND BROTHER
AND HIS LITTLE DUTCH FRIEND
AIPHONS
