Memorial Crash B-17 Groenekan

In Groenekan, municipality of De Bilt, there is a monument in memory of the crash of a B17 on May 28, 1944. The monument consists of counterfeit steel profiles of parts of a B17.

Between Groenekan and Fort Blauwkapel
makes an American B-17 an emergency landing.
Three crew members are killed,
seven are taken prisoner of war.
Groenekan commemorates their sacrifice.
Their sacrifice for our freedom.
