Monument Piet Vossen Heythuysen

At this location Piet Vossen was shot dead by the German occupying forces.

On October 8, 1944, the church razzia took place. At the time, about three thousand men from North and Central Limburg were taken out of the churches by the Germans to work in Germany. Many deaths were also regretted during this raid. One of them is Piet Vossen. He helped people in hiding and a deserted German. Piet Vossen is buried in the Heythuysen cemetery.
