Memory Route World War ll V1 fell in the Lange Wagenstraat in Gilze

In the Municipality of Gilze and Rijen is a memory route created in memory of the Second World War.
In a number of places there is a sign with a description of what happened at that place in the Second World War.

V1 FELL IN THE LANGE WAGENSTRAAT IN GILZE

On February 26, 1945, a V1 fell on two houses in the Lange Wagenstraat in Gilze. The consequences were terrible. In total, there were nine victims (two adults and seven children). Two children were killed as the dairy façade opposite the houses collapsed. They were waiting there for a hot meal. A few days later, another girl died of her injuries.
