Chapel of Consolation and Peace and Lourdes Grotto Kaprijke

After the Second World War, several chapels were erected in Flanders as thank because the municipality emerged from the war without much misery.
This chapel in Kaprijk was founded in 1947 by pastor van Goethem. She was dedicated to Our Lady of Sweet Comfort and Peace because Lembeke was spared from war violence.

Opposite the chapel is a Lourdes cave built on the remains of a German bunker.
