War memorial Limmen

This memorial commemorates the crash of a Mosquito FBVI near Limmen on the 8th of september 1944. The Mosquito was shot after being shot by a German dinghy off the coast of Castricum.
The aircraft was part of the 418th squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force and was en route to Germany. The two crew members were killed in the crash and are buried in the General Cemetery next to the Protestant church.

Herbert Reginald Tribbeck (28 years old)
