Crash Site Hampden Page Handley

This memorial was erected in remembrance of the crew members of the Hampden Page Handley of the 408th Goose Squadron of the RCAF which crashed on this spot on 9 November 1941.

The four crew members were killed:
Sergeant Douglas Victor Markall (Great Britain)
Sergeant Douglas Frederik William Norton (Great Britain)
Sergeant Evan Bertram Te Makahi Robertson (New Zealand)
Pilot Officer John Caley Wilson (Canada)
