Crash Sites Grumman F6F-3 Hellcats 66024 & 65923
On November 1, 1943, two F6F-3 Hellcats collided mid-air in the Narragansett Bay, killing both pilots. The planes fell 26 feet into the water not far from the shore of the nearby naval air station.
