Naval Air Station Quonset Point

Naval Air Station Quonset Point was commissioned on 12 July 1941 and used by the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm to train in piloting Vought F4U Corsairs from the beginning of 1943.

Naval Air Station Quonset Point was decommissioned in 1974. Today the former site houses a Rhode Island Air National Guard base and an industrial park.
