Dam near Luchtenberg

The dam near Luchtenberg was built in 1938/1939. Interlocking concrete slabs could be pulled and lowered over the river with cranks. After the war, the crank elements would be removed. In April 1972, a pedestrian bridge was built over the remaining remains. The two guide grooves for the concrete slabs can still be seen very clearly.
The dam was constructed to be able to flood the surrounding land in the event of an advancing enemy.
