Dalbenden Castle Urft

This castle was founded in the 12th century.

During the Second World War, Dalbenden Castle was the seat of the General Staff of the 67th Army Corps under General O. Hitzfeld. At the end of 1944, Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt led the Ardennes Offensive. On December 18, 1944, the castle was bombed by the US Air Force and partly destroyed.
