Belgian War Graves Tellin

Tellin cemetery contains two Belgian war graves of the Second World War.

"To our beloved son
and brother
Raymond PICARD
Soldier of the 3rd Ardennes Hunters
wounded while fighting
on the Lys on 27 May 1940.
Died in St.Andries
on May 29, 1940
at the age of 24 years
R.I.P."

Raymond Picard was badly wounded by a shell fragment during heavy fighting with German infantrymen in the defense of the village of Vinkt. He died in a hospital from his injuries.

The second grave is that of Roger SINON, murdered in captivity by the SS.
