Belgian War Graves Sint-Gillis-Waas

The cemetery of Sint-Gillis-Waas contains a number of graves of fallen of the Second World War.
THUY Ferdinand was executed on September 11, 1944 in St-Gillis-Waas.

KEGELS Alfons was killed in action on May 26, 1940 in Nevele.
He was a soldier with the 7th Line 3rd Battalion 9th Comp.
He was killed in an artillery bombardment on the Schipdonk Canal.

VAN DER GUCHT Edward belonged to the Genie, Dept. Railways Telephone Telegraphy (CFT). He died in Ypres on May 26, 1940.

VERBERCKMOES Robert was a soldier 17th Artillery 2nd Group 4th Battery .
He was seriously injured when on 23 May an shell exploded early in the barrel of the gun near their artillery position on De Pinte, which provided support to, among others, the 1st Battalion of the 5th Line in Kwatrecht.
He died on 24 May in hospital in Tielt from his injuries.

The cemetery of Sint-Gillis-Waas also contains a number of graves of civilian war victims of the Second World War.
