War Memorial Vussem

The monument in Vussem is outside the village on the Friedhofsweg near the cemetery. The facility was inaugurated on October 5, 1952. The monument stands on a semicircular quarry wall, with two tall pillars in the center between a large iron cross, the largest yet seen in the southern Rhineland. Under the cross three black stone plates, on the middle a dedication, below that a Stahlhelm on oak leaves and the signature of the stonemason PH. Simons from Mechernich. Left and right on the plates the fallen soldiers of both world wars.
Impressive complex, in the semicircle of the wall the monument square, in front of it a wide staircase.
