At the Götzens cemetery, right by the local church in the center of the village, plaques commemorating those who fell during WW1 have been attached to the inside of the entrance gate on both sides of the entrance gate. all names have a photo of the person in question, which makes it even more tangible.
The inscription under 1 of the plaques;
"We died the most beautiful death. For the fatherland, the hero's death! Do not mourn for your loved ones, That we will not return to you; God had destined for us, To be able to find still greater happiness. Before the throne of God we beg that we may meet again there."
