Memorial Darmstadt Central Station

At the entrance to Darmstadt's Art Nouveau-built Central Station, a bronze plaque commemorates the forced laborers who arrived here between 1941 and 1945. They arrived here from numerous European countries, over five thousand forced laborers, to work at one of the sixty companies in Darmstadt that had to provide production for the German war industry. In May 1995, this plaque was presented to the municipality by the inhabitants of the city.
