Memorial Chapel Tyrolean Kaiserjäger

On a narrow road behind the cemetery of Kufstein is the memorial chapel for the Tyrolean Kaiserjäger, who died during the First and Second World War.

The Kaiserjäger was founded by Emperor Franz-Joseph.
In 1815 he ordered a regiment of fighters to be set up in Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

In Kufstein in 1926, on the occasion of the unveiling of the Andreas Hofer monument on the Kalvarienberg, it was decided to found a local group Kufstein of the Tyrolean Kaiserjägerbund.
One hundred and three Kaiserjäger joined this Kufstein group.
Josef Kronthaler's local group received the Kronthaler Chapel as a donation, later it became the "Tiroler Kaiserjäger Gedächtnis Chapel".
