Torpedo Shed Hoek Van Holland

Torpedo shed Hoek van Holland

The Torpedoloods is housed in a monumental building. The shed was built in 1886. Since then, the shed has had various (military) destinations.

This shed was built in 1886 for the storage of naval mines and torpedoes.
The Torpedo Shed has had this function for decades.

During the Second World War, the building was used for ammunition storage. The Germans took it into use and built a bunker next to the building.

After the war, the Torpedoloods served as a so-called mobilization point for a number of years. The building was evicted by the Ministry of Defense in the 1980s. Just before the turn of the century, the building was renovated and since then catering has been established in it.
