Belgian War Graves Zuurbemde

The cemetery in Zuurbemde, hamlet of Glabbeek, contains the graves of a military victim of the Second World War. It concerns DEGEEST Celestin, soldier Air Force, who died of his wounds in the hospital in Tienen on 10 May 1940.

There is the grave of TOUSSAINT Jozef, soldier V.V.E. 10th Wing at Kleine-Brogel, who died in the plane crash of 19 July 1960 in Sake-Masisi, Congo (CD).
41 soldiers were killed in that crash, including 36 members of the VVE 10th Wing Air Force and the five crew members of the C-119 Flying Boxcar.
