Memorial Truus van Lier

Truus van Lier was born in Utrecht in 1921 and was a member of the resistance group CS-6 during the Second World War. She worked as a courier and smuggled weapons and illegal literature. She also arranged hiding places for Jewish families. In 1943 Van Lier shot and killed the Utrecht NSB chief of police Gerard Kerlen here at his house in Willemsplantsoen. She was arrested, deported and shot in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp that same year.
