Former National Socialist "Dorfgemeinschaftshaus"

The 300-year-old half-timbered house was bought in 1935 by the SS and renovated until 1937 together with the villagers and the "Reichtsarbeitsdienst" (kind of employment); according to the SS it was to serve as a new cultural center of the village. An equally old half-timbered barn (adjacent to the right) was converted into a house by the manager. The bay window, built in 1936 opposite the "Dorfgemeinschaftshaus" shows a compromise between the 'pagan' design ideas of the SS (runes, symbols) and the Christian meaning that the local pastor of the SS imprinted there.
