Mill of Kintail Museum

The Mill of Kintail Museum houses the R. Tait Mackenzie Memorial Museum.

A noted sculptor, educator, and physician, R. Tait McKenzie served in the Royal Army Medical Corps during WW1. He specialized in physical training and rehabilitation. While commanding Heaton Park Command Depot he oversaw the care of thousands of wounded soldiers, even designing unique equipment to restore function. His ground breaking publications laid the foundation for modern rehabilitation practice.
His sculptures are found in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Sweden. Plaster models of some of his works are located in the museum. One of his works, the Volunteer stands beside the Almonte Old Town Hall in Mississippi Mills Ontario.
