Alabama Army Ammunition Plant

The Alabama Army Ammunition Plant (ALAAP) was built between 1940-41. The plant loaded gun powder into bags used by the army's and navy's largest guns. It also produced heavy water for the Manhattan Project. The facility ceased operation in August 1945.

Much of the complex has been demolished since the end of World War II.
