Fresno Assembly Center / Fresno Ground Training Center

The Fresno Assembly Center was located on the Fresno Fairgrounds. During WW2 it was an encampment/internment camp for Americans with a Japanese background. The camp was closed in November 1942 and taken over by the 4th AF. Under the new name Fresno Ground Training Center, it became a training base for ground personnel of the Air Force.
