NASA Ames Research Center

NASA Ames Research Center was founded in 1939 as Ames Aeronautical Laboratory. The laboratory was engaged in high-speed wind tunnel testing. The complex was expanded after the war and was given its current name. The visitor's center has a few displays devoted to the history of the complex.
