Festung Grauerort

Defense work Festung Grauerort
The position, also known as Battery "Grauerort II", had been built on the Elbe in the summer of 1870 as part of the defense strategy in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. During the First and Second World War sea mines were stored there and loaded onto the ships. During the Second World War it was also used as a flack position.
