Crash Site Messerschmitt 109 'Schwarzen 10'

On Sunday, January 30, 1944, fierce firefights take place above the eastern Netherlands.

That day Petty Officer Otto Tillack takes off from Volkel Air Base in his Messerschmidt 109 with fuselage code 'Schwarzen 10'. To enlist in battle.

Around 13:30 the young pilot crashes at high speed in a meadow near Millingen. He will only be 20 years old, leaving only his mother.

His remains will only be found after more than 76 years at a depth of 4 meters in the crashed aircraft.

The aircraft wreckage was salvaged in November 2020, various debris are exhibited in a shop window in the Prinsenstraat in Dalfsen.
The pilot Otto Tillack's remains have been interred at the Cemetery for German Military Fallen in Ysselsteyn, Limburg.
Otto Tillack's device is the first German model from the National Salvage Programme.

It concerns 2 monuments, 1 before and 1 after the salvage.
