Frederiks Memorial - Battle of Wervik 1793

Frederiks Memorial in tribute to Willem George Frederik van Oranje-Nassau, the brother of Willem I (later king) of the Netherlands. He was seriously wounded in 1793 during the Battle of Wervik, where a coalition of English and Dutch troops defeated the French republicans.
The statue is flanked by two guns, bearing the names of Waldeck and Clairfayt, respectively a field marshal and a major general. The guns are a gift from the Dutch government.
