Perimeter Route Marker 20: Schoonoord and Vreewijk

This is a marker of the Perimeter Route. On this route you walk in the footsteps of the Allies who tried to liberate this region in September 1944. Follow the route and discover not only impressive locations and historical events, but also personal stories from civilians and soldiers who were present at these places during the Battle of Arnhem.

The Schoonoord and Vreewijk hotels were intended as a temporary medical point in Oosterbeek, but became important medical posts in the perimeter.
