Memorial Corner Cottage Owston

This memorial commemorates that from December 1943 until the departure of the 10th Battalion the Parachute Regiment to Arnhem on September 18, 1944, Captain Lionel Queripel VC lived here. Captain Queripel was killed at Wolfheze and was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.
