Victor BURTON, mayor of Chenois (1908-1914), victim of the German atrocities committed in August 1914.
Second World War

Léon PENIS, soldier 4th Chasseurs Ardennais, Gottem 26 May 1940
Roger SCHMIT, soldier Chasseurs Ardennais and resistance fighter, died during an act of sabotage in Saint-Mard on 29 September 1942
Maurice MAUXHIN, political prisoner died in captivity in Essen (G) on 26 March 1944
Marie-Célestine DUVAL and Marie-Jeanne BURTON, civilian victims, died in Chenois on 14 July 1943 when a German plane crashed on the family home.
