Stumbling Stone Landstraat 41

On March 31, 2023, a Stolperstein was laid here for:
Dr. J. de Weduwe

German artist Gunter Demnig began laying the first Stolperstein in Berlin's Kreuzberg district in 1997.
Since then, Stolpersteine have been laid in many countries.
They commemorate the Holocaust in particular but also others who perished in World War II.
A Stolperstein is a 10 x 10cm concrete stone, with a brass plate at the top in which the name, date of birth and death and place of death is stamped.
The Stolperstein is placed in the sidewalk in front of the victim's former home.
Gunter Demnig thus gives each victim his own monument.
His motto is: "A HUMAN BEING IS FORGOTTEN ONLY WHEN HIS OR HER NAME IS FORGOTTEN.

Borne was the first place in the Netherlands where Stolpersteine were laid.
This happened on 29-11-2007.
