German residential area Karlshagen

This residential area was built in 1936 for researchers and scientists working near the village of Peenemünde.

During the Second World War, research and development into the V1 and V2, the so-called Vergeltungswaffens (retaliation weapons), which were used by the German armed forces, was carried out near the village of Peenemünde.
