Belgian War Graves Kalmthout-Heide

The Heide cemetery contains several war graves, including:

VANGEEL Gommarus: born in Deurne on November 2, 1896, killed in Ypres on May 26, 1940. He was initially part of the school battery of the 32nd Artillery, the training and reinforcement regiment of the 1st, 2nd and 13th Artillery.
This school company was disbanded on May 14, 1940 and divided among the other (probably reinforcement) batteries.
He died in a rather incongruous location for this unit. may have strayed or become separated from his unit and thus die.

The children Herman and Hedwig PELS, born in Borgerhout, aged 6 and 3 respectively. They died on January 18, 1945 after a V1 landed near their neighbors.
