War Memorial Belgian Military Cemetery Champion

The military cemetery, inaugurated by King Albert I in 1923, is a tribute to the French-Belgian alliance, symbolized by the impressive monument in the middle: side by side stand a French soldier, recognizable by the specific trousers and kepi, and a Belgian infantryman , with the well-known 'shako' as headgear.
At the foot of the soldiers it says: "1914-1918".
Above it, a kneeling woman lays down a wreath of flowers for the fallen "pour le droit et pour la liberté" (for justice and freedom).

On the pedestal we see two blazons: on the right the French rooster, on the left the Belgian lion. A bronze palm lies on the stairs.
