Memorial Civil War Skirmish

During the American Civil War, this location was a fort where units of the 3rd California Volunteer Infantry regiment were stationed because of all kinds of small battles with the local Indians. At this location a skirmish took place with the Ute Indians, which according to American history is seen as part of the American Civil War.
