POW camp Orem

In Orem there was a camp where 200 Japanese-Americans were initially interned after the attack on Pearl Harbor until the summer of 1944. They were then replaced by about 60 Italian prisoners, who were expelled after Italy joined the Allies. replaced by about 350 German prisoners who had been captured in North Africa.

The prisoners mainly worked in the orchards near here.
