Memorial The Battle of Le Hamel

At the church in Le Hamel, a bronze information board commemorates the battle of Le Hamel on 4 July 1918 and, in particular, the Australian contribution during World War I.

During the attack on Le Hamel, Australian troops (with the help of some American regiments) under the command of General John Monash applied a new tactic that resulted in them reaching their objectives in just 92 minutes.
