Bunker Gibraltar in Pozieres

This bunker was built by the German armed forces during the First World War. At the end of July 1916, Australian soldiers captured this German bunker, which they called Gibraltar.

The "Gibraltar Bunker" was known by the German forces as "Das Blockhaus", and was the only structure in the area left after the many bombings.
