Memorial 3rd Infantry Division Berchtesgaden
The U.S. 3rd Infantry Division liberated Berchtesgaden on 4 May 1945, reveiving the town’s surrender on the Schlossplatz. The Division conducted a flag raising ceremony here on the Obersalzberg on 5 May.
