KZ Cemetery Kaufering Camp IV

KZ Lager Kaufering IV was one of the largest subcamps (169) of Dachau.
The forced labourers worked for project " Ringeltaube ".

In late 1944, the camp became an extermination camp where up to 3,000 sick people were present without care. On 27 April 1945, the SS left the camp. The camp was set on fire with the 360 prisoners who could no longer walk.

In the cemetery, these 360 victims were buried in two mass graves. The further 4,000 to 5,000 victims were buried elsewhere.

A quarry was later in operation on the camp grounds, which continued even after human remains were found.
