Memorial Died Occupants Jewish Kibbutz Franeker

Opposite the former building of the "Kibbutz on the Clay" in Franeker, a memorial in memory of the 25 residents of the Kibbutz who died in concentration camps during World War II has stood since 2022.

Between 1934 and 1941, Jewish youth at the kibbutz followed agricultural training and studied Torah in the kibbutz building. After obtaining their certificates, they went to work in Palestine.

On 3 November 1941, everyone living in the kibbutz at the time was arrested by the Grüne Polizei and the Franeker police. Only the kibbutz's founder, Jacob Bramson survived the war.
